My path into creative work & entrepreneurship looks more like a Jackson Pollock painting than a career ladder. During my Shopify days, I watched thousands of entrepreneurs turn "what if" into "what's next"—and that energy was contagious.
While everyone else was planning their five-year corporate climb, I was channeling my grandpa's entrepreneurial spirit.
During the 2020 lockdowns, I launched a DTC skincare brand—talk about diving into the deep end of design, eCommerce, and entrepreneurship all at once.
I'm going to be honest, I didn't have a clue what I was doing!
But one thing was very clear - I loved design.
The process of starting from scratch, bringing a brand to life - it was intoxicating (and also why it took me a whole year to build that first website - I've learned to do much better since then 😂)
What I didn't know then was that I loved the process so much I would eventually see myself doing it for other people - and here we are, and here you are reading this ❤️
Post-Shopify life kicked open doors I didn't even know existed. Getting pushed out of my cushy tech job was the kick in the pants I needed to finally step into the age old question: "What do I really want to do?"
I knew I loved helping people, and I knew I had a bit of a knack for design. Could I..? Filled with doubts, going through one of the roughest parts of my life I decided to go all in. And that story unfolded with some wild twists, which I'll save for another post on my LCS blog.
My mission now is to both inspire people to take the entrepreneurial leap and bet on themselves & help brand founders bring their visions to life—because building something meaningful isn't about following some guru's 10-step formula or dancing to the algorithm's tune.
Each project in my DIY-design-career since has shown me that remarkable brands aren't built by following someone else's formula. As that sure wasn't my path.
I don't have an official degree in design, nor do I have any fancy awards, but I use my soft skills of empathy & creativity to really feel into the needs of each client I work with [edit: while courageously battling my little inner perfectionist]
Entrepreneurship is about finding your own path, breaking some rules, and maybe setting a few things on fire along the way (metaphorically, of course).
These days, I bounce between designing for brands who aren't afraid to flip the script - from fearless bootstrapped startups and multi-million dollar Shopify Plus stores to passionate service providers - all while building Lemonade Stand Club - a playground where design magic, business chats, and real community converge.
Lemonade Stand Club is my love-child 🩷 - a place where all these threads come together—design, commerce, community, and real talk about building things that matter. It's for everyone who believes brand building is more art than algorithm, more story than strategy, and definitely more soul than spreadsheet.
